Unable to remove barrel during field strip on M&P45C

I have had my M&P45C for about 3 months now and it seems there is problem removing the barrel during a field strip. I have been able to remove the barrel only twice before and it required a lot of effort. It seems like the slide was not chamferred correctly for the barrel to be easily removed. She shoots true and has never had a failure. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the barrel being hard to remove?

They are not normaly hard to remove but do have to be lined up correctly or can jam. Dont try to force it and it will drop out when in the correct position. Play around a bit and you will figure it out. If it has come out and gone back in before it will do so again.

TOF I had to really force it out when the barrel came out. Which I believe resulted in this (look at the indentations and discoloration) Never had a barrel act up like this before. She shoots true and goes bang every time, but I do want to be able to do a thorough cleaning when it's fieldstriped.

Doesn't look like a simple fix, call S&W a 1-800-331-0852 and they should have it back to you in a couple weeks.

P.S. Nice camera work

Something is definitely not right there. It could be the barrel or the slide. I would send it to S&W. Call them, do not email them (I sent them an email back in 2009 and am still waiting for a response HAHAHAHA). If you call them they'll email you a prepaid shipping label. My turnaround time was about 7-10 business days (I don't recall exactly). Happy Shooting! -Dirvo-

Thanks for all the quick responses everyone. When I called the first time to inquire about the problem the customer service rep basicallly kind of gave me the feeling of (if it ain't broke don't fix it). But looks like I am gonna have to send it which sucks because it's my edc. I'm just hoping my M&P15T I just bought doesn't require any warranty work anytime soon, as that would leave me with a bad taste for S&W

This is why you need more than one ccw!!! When I first got in to handguns I wanted a one gun do all gun. Now my family is growing. It's cliche but "Two is one and one is none"

S&W's customer service is pretty good and they're fast too! Happy Shooting! -Dirvo-

Yup I hear you on that. Maybe I will pick up a FS M&P45 or shield during the downtime.
