I recently purchased an M&P 9L PC ported and have put 2000 rounds through it so far. Since day 1 it's been making a noise that sounds like an old mattress spring, I figured it would go away with some oil and breaking it in over time. I've tried oiling the guide rod and I clean it after every use. But no dice, it still makes the noise. Is this normal or should I contact Smith & Wesson about it?
To sum up; So when you pull the trigger; gun makes a VERY loud bang sound, bullet comes out the muzzle and you can't hear the "spring noise"?
Put a little oil on the guide rod, also GREASE THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF BARREL,stay away from ports and
I should probably pick up some grease. But in the meantime, I pulled the spring out and drowned it with mpro7 oil. I also oiled the port where the spring sits and the rod slides. It sounds a lot better, so I think some grease may do a better job.
Blaming the gun for low or low/left shooting is a cop-out, since that's very rarely the problem (no matter what people tell you.) Pick up some Snap-Caps and try the Ball & Dummy drill from ToddG's Pistol-Training.com. Either have someone else load your magazines as you shoot, or load them up at the end of your session and change it up when putting 'em in your range bag.
Also, keep your booger hook out of the trigger guard until your pistol is pointed downrange.
