Apex trigger alone

I'm limited in the mods to my M&P because it is my duty weapon. In fact the only actual permitted mod is the Apex polymer trigger. The Apex M&P Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit is not specified.

Would it be worth just doing the trigger? We are not permitted to do any mods to any firearms ourselves, they must be performed by a gunsmith. We are permitted to have parts polished, like feed ramps and the sear and trigger bar. Would that be equivalent to the DCAEK?

My standard is a series of 1911s. I have owned a few and shot everything from GI WWII stock to high-end pistols. My current comparator is an EMP4 with a 5# trigger.

Welcome to our little corner of the web!

The sear, trigger bar and polishing and rounding the edges of the striker block will be very similar, it will get rid of a lot of the grittiness that is often present. I shot Bullseye pistol a long time ago and in the 80's I shot PPC competitively in the Master Class, so I have a lot of experience with 1911's as well as a lot of revolver experience. When I got my M&P40, it was one of the original models, I never felt I was shooting it anywhere near its capability. I installed the Ultimate Striker Block and the Fully Machined Sear from Apex and my groups were substantially better, if your armorer will look at the info on the Burwell trigger job it will go a long way towards improving how well you can shoot it.

Here's a page with a link to the instructions:

S&W M&P Trigger Job

He's well known for his custom work on M&P's and others as well. Apex Tactical is really famous for their custom parts as well as their custom pistols, but like every shop that's any good they are really backed up!
