Pistol: M&P 9

I took my new M&P 9 out to the range today. Let me start of off my saying that it box stock right out of the sporting goods store. It has the internal lock and the magazine safety. I don't like the lock but I never plan on using it anyway. The magazine safety I'm not sure about. I generally don't care for it but I have been on the wrong side of a gun grab attempt and I'm rethinking my position on it. That is a long story and doesn't really matter here. If you want to know just IM me.
I probably put about 500 rounds through it (not exactly sure I had it in a bulk box). Most of it was WWB 115 gr ball and some other misc. ball. I also put about 100 rounds of +p and +p+ duty ammo thorough it.
It took me a few mags to get used to the trigger but once I did accuracy was very good. I had absolutely no stoppages of any type. I tried to induce stoppages by limp wristing, canting the pistol, loading mags with mixed ball and JHP ammo and any other thing I could think off. The magazine changes worked flawless the mags fell free easily. The slide went into battery most of the time I inserted the fresh mag without having to use the slide release. Not a big deal to me. I change mags pretty hard and fast. I shot both strong and weak side one and two handed. Ran holster drills, double taps and hammer pairs with no problems.
My only complaints are that the grip seems a little slick. It's not anything that can't be fixed my some skateboard tape though. I might consider a grip texturing job. I also noticed that the front roll pin is backing out to the left. I tapped it back in when I got home. I'm a little bothered by it. Doing some searching I see that I'm not the only one that has had the problem.
I used my duty rig with an Uncle Mikes Pro 3 retention holster. The holster is a size 21 and it is fitted for Glock 17,22. It fit the M&P perfectly. The internal retention device also works. Once I was used to the retention features it functions quickly and easily.
I used only the medium back strap. Next range trip I will try out the others and see how they work.
I'm also considering installing night sights and the 10-8 rear sight.
Overall I rate the pistol as very good. I feel comfortable carrying on duty. I'm looking forward to getting to shoot it some more.
I think that S&W might finally have a winner with this one.
