I generally dont when I'm looking to keep on target, but when I'm all about dumping a mag through a rifle like an AR, middle finger pulls the trigger faster (for shits and giggles) but I keep my index finger in use for target shooting and not having fun tryin to slap rounds out as fast as I can

Thanks for your comments.

Per the literature, in a combat situation, you will have a "death" grip on your gun, so it won't matter much which finger is on the trigger.

Here's a link to my latest video on a - Do-it-yourself low-tec aiming aid 4 fast,

automatic, and accurate aiming at close quarters.

The aiming aid is patented, but individuals are welcome to add one to their personal gun/s at their own risk and expense. I have the patent, so I can say that. US 6023874

Ditto for Police Agencies.

A link to info on how to do that.

After reading this thread, I was curious, so I decided to try the middle-finger method this morning at the range. Here are my observations:

- With my M&P 45, it felt very unnatural and did not improve my aim or speed. Admittedly, I would probably be unrealistic to expect differently on a first try with no practice.

- With my Ruger P345 (heavier trigger on first shot), I could not even pull the trigger with my middle finger for the first shot.

I think I will stick with my index finger since I would be foolish to shoot differently with different guns.

My question is why would you do such a thing? Unless the person is a careless high school woodshop teacher, that left his trigger finger behind at the bandsaw.
