Big First at the Range Yesterday

I'd like to say I shot a 2" group at 25 yards, but that's going to wait until my next life.

I shot my first reloads in my wife's backup M&P 9! 124gr, 4.0 & 4.2gr WSF with Bayou bullets. Accuracy wasn't very good, but I was more concerned with recoil and not having a kaboom; the gun has Dawson sights which my wife doesn't like so I don't think I ever adjusted for POI. The gun cycled at 4.0gr, but the brass barely made it out of the gun. My wife fired about 10 rounds and her grip isn't strong enough for reliable cycling at those loads, but she liked the recoil.

I finished by putting 20 rounds down range at 9 yards with my M&P 40, this not long after I changed the trigger from 2lb/10oz back up to 5lbs. I wasn't being particularly careful just wanted to show my friend some love, but the results, for me, weren't bad. The single prescription glasses I am now using make the sights crystal clear - what an improvement! 40 cal target

Why the 9mm ammo? My wife and I are getting 9mm 1911s, the senior citizen version of a classic. We're not abandoning our M&Ps, but my wife unfortunately watched a Youtube video followed by our renting a 9mm 1911 at a local range: had the recoil of an M&P22 and her first target with the 1911 was better than what she can do with her M&P 9. The rest as they say is "history"; fortunately there is one such handgun left on the CA roster.

We went with the Springfield 9mm 1911 Loaded Target which was hard to find. The Kimber looks pretty rare as well.
