1st Time M&P Pro Range Report

M&P Pro Series w/5" barrel.
Ammo: Blazer Brass 9mm 115gr FMJ.

The first target at 7 yards, the second and 50 feet. Shooting low, but maybe not as bad as it looks. I fired 70 rounds at the 7 yard target, and I suspect many went through that big hole just below center. The shots in the orange were my first, and I only got better. Far better than what I can do with my XDs 9 at the same distance. So I'm pleased for a first timer.

Sill even lower at 50Ft until I brought a bench rest into play, and that brought be into the yellow and green. But comparing it with the last time I fired a 9mm at the 50ft target with a Ruger P89 back in 2013 (I kept the target), I am far better with the M&P. On that 2013 target no hole was touching and they were spread in a 10in circle. Most of my shots this time were within the 4in ring. I will only get better with more time, and maybe different ammo.

Thanks for the range report. Looks like some good shooting, especially for the first time out.

2-weeks later still a bit low, but a huge improvement. Nice group, except for the one that got away.

Nice shooting. I am sure the tall sights take some getting used to.

Yes indeed! I think the lower barrel axis to grip height helps me a lot. The recovery feels quicker too. To have a gun that you know you can shoot straight off is huge.

Third time out, and I can do no wrong out to 30 feet. Blew a big whole POA. To think that just a few weeks ago, my shooting and some threads I read had me doubting the accuracy of the Pro Series. Practice, practice, practice. Just for fun, for my last 10 shots, I pushed the target out to 25 yards. I was hitting about 8 inches low & left in a hand size group. But I won't let it get me down. I bet before the years out, I'll get real good at that distance too.

Nice range report. I just got a pro series and can't wait to get it to the range.
