If you're getting stuff from the patches and cloth sticking to the weapon it sounds like you are using too much lube. Only a very SMALL amount, 1 drop, to the points it shows you in the manual. I would take it apart, clean it with Hoppes #9 to get all the lube off, let it air dry for about 10 minutes, wipe it down with a clean, dry lint free cloth like a microfiber cloth for auto detailing, lube the points with 1 drop of breakfree (or whatever lube you prefer) each, put it back together. Work the action many times (10-20 slide releases and resets) to let that lube get all around in the slide grooves and the barrel hole in the front of the slide, then wipe the fingerprints and any lube specs off with a REM oil rag. The exterior of the weapon should be completely dry and fingerprint and debris free when you are finished, and the points you were to lube should be adequately lubed with again, 1 drop each, and worked into place via the guns own action.

Welcome. I am a big fan of coating my slide with oil and wiping it cleanwith a dry cotton cloth to get all the excess. Much like everyone else, I try to keep my guns staying nice and pretty.

Lint from patches

Try, great products and after you clean your gun they can be cleaned up a reused many times. They have eliminated the heed for patches.
