S&W (or you can get them from other parts deals like Speed Shooter Specialties) sells black and dark earth (tan) for the full sized M&P 9/40/45. You can also get the dark earth magazine release for these guns. You can't buy tan in compact 9/40s but can get the grips in black or tan for the compact .45. Finally, you can get the frame tools in tan for the .45 compacts.

These grips sell for $2.50-$3.00 each. Frame tools may run the same. Magazine releases might cost upwards to $4 each.

Finally, the pink grips (only come in medium I believe) for a full sized M&P 9/40/45 are available for $7.50 each but are usually back-ordered from S&W. A guy on this forum who does grip stippling got a couple in and I have a couple back-ordered for a couple customers.

Other than those three colors- everything comes from a can. Good luck, if you need any help, drop me a PM. I don't work for S&W...but I order these in bulk to stipple.

really great stuff to use on every type nylon/plastic {most fabric stores will carry it} I use it on 1/2, 3/4 and 1&3/4 oz. ripstop fabric that gets expose to harmful environment salt & sand and prolong UV's ...so much so that it last longer than factory dies pigments .....

I just picked up OD green.... if I get a chance today I'll shoot a extra tan back strap I have or take my time and do a camo theme
How do you think this would hold up on the actual frame? Would you suggest painting it? It'd be a cool way to have a unique pistol.

You can also get them ceratoked. A member on this site - Aziator - has a FFL who does a great job on the parts at reasonable prices. I like this idea a little more for a carry gun...my range guns can get the $10/spray can treatment.

The tan magazine release is on back order via Brownells and S&W. Been out of stock for about two weeks. Don't know when they will be back in stock. You will pay about the same if you order from either place - shipping is more expensive via S&W, part is more expensive at Brownells = equals out in the end.

My opinion is to always order it from S&W. Cheaper prices...but you may have to wait 7-10 days to get your parts. Call S&W at: 1-800-331-0852 and ask for customer service (I type in extension 4125). You can tell them what you need or visit their website, download the PDF parts manual, find the part numbers you need, and relay it to them.

Thanks, but I can't order directly from S&W because they won't ship to Canada. As for the mag release, I just put one on back order at Brownell's because there's no rush to get it. At least they will ship to Canada with no problems.

Hi,

Check this out, they have all kinds of stippled backstraps for the M&P and different colors of backstraps, too. oooops, just saw that Streakpi provided the same link, above.

I'm not Ianphoto (although for the right price I'll play one on TV) but I can answer the question.

Most people use nail polish or paint. Clean the slide with alcohol. Let dry. Color marking with your choice. Let dry. Clean off ecxess with thinner or nail polish remover on a q-tip, cleaning patch, paper towel, etc. Where the thinner/acetone contacts the finish may show some discoloration but it disappears after a few cleanings.

Thanks, got it done. Big difference from doing the same thing with a white crayon - that was a mess.

...I think that is a GREAT excuse to buy another gun! If she asks, S&W only sells the pink grips on the gun - they don't offer anything else pink for the gun. You would have to find someone out there to customize it. However, comma, the customization probably won't match that OEM pink grip.

This is one I did for my wife.
