M&P 9mm ambi thumb safety: stuck sear deactivation lever unable to insert magazine

I was disassembling my new M&P 9mm 4.25" thumb safety when I believe I got the sear deactivation lever stuck called S&W they told me wiggle it until it was back in the upright position. I have been doing this for a while now and am getting nowhere any advice?

Thanks for any pointers

The deactiavtion lever can sometimes be knocked to the side during cleaning. Take a look from above and make sure it's straight (inline with the bore, if you had the barrel on). If it's pionting to the side, trying to get it back to it's proper position by put force to the tip won't work, light pressure at the base of the lever (I use a dental pick) will pop it back into the proper alignment.
