SW 642 Airweight help

Need some advice fellas.....

My wife has a S&W 642 Airweight...hammerless that she will use for CCW. She is waiting on her CWP to arrive. Since this is her 1st CCW I want it to be as safe as possible.

Can you guys recommend a good holster for the 642? I'm pretty sure she will want to carry OWB which is easier on the draw and she don't wear pants 2 sizes big...lol.

I'm thinking a good quality paddle maybe? Definitely something with a thumb break that would keep it from falling out unexpectedly.

What can you guys recommend?

Thanks!

I would look at Panther Concealment Custom Kydex Holsters and Knife Sheaths
They have made me OWB for .40 auto that I describe as "a cross between a traditional paddle and a pancake holster. You get the convenience and speed of the paddle, but the conceal ability of a traditional belt-slot pancake".
They are in the process of making a pocket rig for my new 638. See what they offer for your situation.

E-mail Scott or Jim and check your junk mail for a reply. They are very prompt but sometimes the reply lands there.

With a good quality holster a thumb break isn't necessary (I won't own a holster that has one).

A pancake style holster will hold the gun higher and tighter (for better concealment under lighter weight cover garments) than a paddle holster will.

The Mitch Rosen holsters sold by Dillon Precision are a very good deal on a top quality holster.

My preference is Brommeland Gunleather, but they are an expensive custom made holster, with a wait time of several weeks (I have three).

Check with Moochies in Lake of the Hills, IL - they do custom holsters.
