Picking one up for $600 out the door, can anybody here tell me how you like this gun. I currently have a sig m400 and love it, just can't pass up for this price. I watched a few vids on youtube and i see it has no dust cover or forward assist like my sig...no big deal. Seems like a pretty solid AR.
Congrats on the M&P15 Sport. I have one as well and I have really enjoyed mine. The lack of a forward assist and dust cover has not bothered me in the least. Now if it were being used as a true battle weapon and being exposed daily to dust, dirt, mud, and water I would probably want the forward assist and dust cover. In my opinion, the 15 Sport is a fine entry level AR platform and does fine for it's intended purposes. Shoot it like you stole it and have fun with it. You made a good choice and got a good deal. Just my .02 worth.
Thanks man, I pick it up Wednesday and can't wait to compare it to the sig. All videos i have watched it sure looks like a fine ar, maybe the best value of any!
Congrats! Got a sport myself & love it. Its accurate out of the box & has been 100% reliable. Put over 1600 rounds of brass & steel casings w/ out any issues. Enjoy!
I got mine on layaway with $380 left to pay. Mine was $680 out the door but I didn't have the cash on hand so I had them hold on to it because these things fly off the shelves where I am in central Tx. Hopefully I'll get it out next week. I read up on as many reviews and YouTube vids as I could and found it to be a very solid tool. Can't wait for it to be in my hands.
979 you will love it. Got mine about 5 weeks ago and finally made it to the range last weekend. Was very accurate out of the box at 50 yds. Shot 223 & 556. My first AR, why did I wait sooo long to get one. Enjoy.
100 rounds!!!!! That will last you about 5 minutes:yes
I love mine. The forward assist and dust cover was not originally on the M16s when Stoner design it. The military decided they wanted them added. I watched a demo with a guy shooting one in Arizona prone. He put many rounds threough it in the sand and never had a problem. The dust covers open when shooting so they just keep crud out when not in use. As far as the forward assist, I don't want to force a round in the chamber that might cause a jam so I don't miss it. I have two others with it but I don't use it. Just MHO
Enjoy your sport. They shoot great.
I bought one a couple of months ago and finally shot it last week. Accurate and reliable. I plan on making this as light weight as i can just a fun gun to shoot
I've had the older (a couple years before the oboma weapons freak-out), Sport with the 1-8 5R melonite treatment for quite a few years and it's had thousands of rounds through it with ZERO issues or problems.
Just purchased my wife a sport. I had a lower I built up for her and I was looking at uppers but I figured for the money this was a good rifle for her to get started with. She wants to do it in muddy girl furniture (if we can find it anymore), to truly make it all hers... Great gun for the money. I guess we will see how great when her muddy girl MP15 goes head to head with my Noveske at the range, lol.
Bought mine 14mos ago and have run close to 1K range rounds w/o issue using new and my reloads. Sighted-in stock Magpul rear easily. Paid $587 before Adding EOTech2 Halo-can't miss! Enjoy!
