Crimson Trace VS Lasermax For Shield
Which one is better? The CT is about twice as much as the Lasermax. Which one is brighter and are the dot sizes the same at the same yardage? Do they both hold zero after shooting? Which one do you have? As of right now I'm leaning towards the Lasermax strictly for the On/Off button. Thanks for the answers.

1) the crimson trace fits the trigger better. (no finger pinching if you have big hands)
2) the crimson trace actuates when the gun is gripped. (no button to think about pressing in an emergency)
3) the crimson trace has a three year warranty.( vs 1 year warranty on lasermax)
4) the crimson trace comes with a "batteries for life" program.
5) they both appear to have equal brightness & dot size at 50 feet.
Decide for you self. They are both top quality units.

So folks have a choice, form/fit and function or looks? For me there's only one choice, and since I think the CT looks better then the other choices then there's really no compromise.

I have the lasermax on my shield and I love it! It looks like it's part of the gun. They did a great job on the design. Crimson trace is slightly bigger and less attractive...to each their own

The CT is always on when you hold the gun. If you want to do range practice, using the sights, it's not only a distraction, but you run the battery down. Also, if you shoot it in the IDPA bug class, you can't have the laser in use. I thought about both kinds for my Shield and went with the LaserMax. It's great.

Lots of Love for CT
I've got three CT lasers and just ordered a 4th for my new Shield. Do the research and you'll find lots on info on their dependability. My ultimate criteria was the "instant on" operation. I don't want to fumble with switches when I may need to get a round off immediately. If your range has a problem with lasers, try a small piece of electrical tape over the diode. Don't forget to remove it when you leave.
