Though he says common logic dictates that you can only convert down, just in case there is SOME sort of invisible indiscernible difference in material strength etc.

He even demonstrated how the .40 magazines load and feed 9mm ammunition just fine.

I've never seen anyone use a custom conversion barrel - I've seen someone use a stock barrel 9mm in a shield 40 and it worked flawlessly.

There wasn't any extra gaps or any problem fitting it in - in fact, it was pretty difficult to tell the two barrels apart.

Has anyone actually had any problems using the stock 9mm barrel for a conversion?

Anyway, the TruePrecision barrels look pretty sweet - are they ONLY going to fit in the Cali-Version of the shield, or are you guys saying they need extra work TO fit the Cali-Version?

200 dollars is almost as much as I paid for my brand new Shield40, so it is way too much to spend on something new on the market without any reviews.

Does anyone have a review video or a written review by an accredited person?
Check out this thread from 2012 before you make a mistake and possibly blow up your gun.

Bill in tx, I think this thread is in regard to the Shield 40/9 conversion, not m & p as is the other thread. I read thru it all and did not see any reference to the Shield.

Never will get this and the reasoning behind it.
If you want to shoot 9 by a 9
If you want to shoot 40 buy a 40.
The so called savings in ammo will take a long time to pay for a 200 plus barrel and with Shields selling new for about 300 it really makes even less sense to me now.

You have good prices on Shields in Texas. Here in Cali best price on a new Shield is $420 plus $40 tax plus $35 transfer fee. Two of them cost almost $ 1,000, so a 9mm barrel makes sense for 9mm at the range and 40s&w for carry.
PS; on another shield forum there is postings of 9mm barrel in 40. Shields dating back to 2012 with no problems.

My gf is about to take my Shield 9 for her carry. Considered a PC to replace it, after choosing against it last time. When I looked locally, only a 40 was available and considered it and get a 9mm barrel for practice. The only 9mm barrel I can find right now though is the cost of another Shield LOL.

My 40 Sig does have a 9mm barrel as well, and I shoot well with 40 (or it's just me with that particular gun) so I didn't mind carrying a PC40 and having a 9mm barrel as well.
