I love my Whitehat holster! Conceals very well, even with me carrying a full size .40. I wear mine all day, pretty much everyday.

Hi Bill,
The Whitehats are here, I will have to get a pic. I got an IWB and one of the OWB slides. I am concerned about how the horsehide on the slide will hold up. there is a lot of stress at the belt holes, and it is a single layer, not reinforced in any way. I have half a mind to bring it to a saddle shop and have them double stitch some extra material on the back side at the belt loops.

The IWB is nice, but is horsehide and will require some breaking in.

But, here is the picture of the custom holster that is on its way in the mail right now. It is a standard holster style, but the two-tone treatment is custom. This holster rides very high and tight and is extremely concealable (with a cover garment).

Hi Zotzer! I can't speak for the OWB Whitehats, as I don't have one of those...at least not yet. However, in my experience it won't take long to break in the IWB. A few days of wearing it and adjusting to fit what you like should work.

The custom holster looks very nice. Sounds like you got some quaility stuff that should last for a while. Let me know how you like the slide. I've been thinking of purchasing one. But, it stays so warm in S. Texas most of the year, that IWB works better for me. Enjoy!

Here are the Whitehats. You can see they are high quality. I really like the horsehide. The other fantastic thing about them is that the kydex piece is modular. All you need to order for a different firearm is the kydex piece, not an entirely new holster. Plus, they have really cool color/pattern options, and will even do customs if you send them the artwork.

I wanted to try one of the two-piece riveted designs and ran across MT Holsters . I ordered a carbon fiber look OWB, then had the maker trim the bottom off just at the end of the slide to reduce some bulk, and since I did not want to adjust the ride height. It carries the Shield like it isn't even there, draws with a snap, and is a great looking rig.

I just got a DeSantis Intruder IWB from Midway. The one I bought for my Bodyguard 380 works perfect, so I picked one up for the Shield. Great fit, with height adjustment for exposure above the belt line. It slips a bit with an undershirt, but barely any movement against bare skin.

Snagged a DeSantis Superfly Pocket holster for cargo pants pocket carry. Good set up for both.

You may want to look at PJ Holsters. He makes some nice kydex models at a very reasonable price.

I am awaiting my Banshee IWB from Wright Leather Works. His work is really topnotch, and I prefer a leather home for my Shield. Also, on their site is a great you-tube reviewing the holster- check it out. When I placed my order, I made a mistake, e-mailed them and received an e-mail back from Brandon Wright immediately...and it was a Sunday! So far, their service is stellar! Can't wait for the holster. Below is the link to their site.

Raven is one of the best Kydex holster makers in the business. They may have longer lead times than others, but are well worth the wait.

I posted earlier about how I dig my FoxX Holsters. Here is a pic as proof. Left side housing the FS9 is the Little FoxX. On the right with the Shield is the FoxX Trapp. On a side note: got in the mail today my Crossbreed belts: Outfreakingstanding! Great buy on both the holsters from FoxX and belts from Crossbreed!

I went with Garrett for the Shield, liked the silent draw and the leather lined kydex.

Can't say much about it, just ordered it this afternoon but the reviews look good

I stand corrected, can't get this holster for the Shield + Crimson Trace LG 489 right now as they are waiting on molds from Duncan who is waiting for CT.

Stopped by CT today to get an ETA but looks like they could be a little ways out.

Everyone is going as fast as they can!

Maybe I'm overthinking this holster thing after seeing so many say they have a dresser drawer full of holsters

clips vs loops, spread apart or closer together etc

I just want a leather holster for the Shield but many I visit don't allow for the CT 489?
