We had a lot of people asked for an extended mag release for the shield, and at first I did't think the shield needed one, however now that it's done i'm really happy with the way it came out and feel it's an asset to the platform. I wanted to share what we came up with. It's larger than the stock release but not too wild and it has a big radius on the front to prevent it catching up on any holsters or clothing. Let us know what you think.
Thanks

you know that's not a bad idea, especially since it;s a new product... I thought the price should be about $19.95, but that's just me...I quess I'm cheap too...
Just placed an order. I like how the edges are more rounded/blended vs. the factory release, that was a nice touch. I look forward to trying it out, thanks!
I've had one for a few days now and my initial impressions are that it is a worthwhile upgrade and I haven't yet unintentionally ejected the magazine during carry or practice.
I am not affiliated with LF Arms in any way shape or form and I will tell you that I have 2 extensions on my m&p9 and m&p45 and it is a superb product. If they extension for the shield is anything like their prior versions it is well worth the price of admission IMO.
I have one for my full size .40 M&P and as soon as the shield magazine release came out I bought it because it's definitely a major upgrade over the factory one. Highly recommended!!
IMO, stock is fine and ejects the mag just fine. On a concealed carry weapon, I'd rather the mag release remains low profile so it doesn't get pushed while IWB.
picked one up, kind of disappointed to be honest. The shape and profile is great. However, it doesnt eject the mags nearly as smoothly as their full sized models. Ended up switching back to the stock mag release and mags ejected as normal. Maybe I just got a bad one.
That is disappointing as I truly love the ones for the fullsize and think it is a much needed enhancement over the factory release especially when using the large palm swell.
It's the engagement point, where the button locks into the mag, it's a slightly different angle, so it changed the way the mag seated, as well as released.
It's unfortunate because the shape of the button is perfect, it doesn't stick out too far, so I don't think there would be issues inadvertently releasing the mag.
But I have nothing but good things to say about LF Arms, they let me file the engagement point, and I got it to work much better, but it still didn't have a positive "click" when inserting a mag, so I also reinstalled the factory part.
LF Arms refunded my money, so no complaints here.
