I was in the market for a slim, light carry gun at least in 9mm and first traded into a lc9....a good gun but I couldn't grip it and get the trigger to break without my trigger finger crashing into my thumb. Handled a Shield pistol and the grip was bigger just enough to prevent this. I bought it on the spot, sold the lc9 and never looked back

Being prior LE I had a big problem with less then 10 rds on board, especially in 9mm. I use to carry Glock exclusively off duty concealed but as we know, a double stack is a pain in the ass to conceal.

I watched the reviews on the Shield for quite a while and studied the ballistics on modern calibers and finally decided to bite the bullet (no pun intended) and get one in 9mm.

I dont own one yet, but a Shield 40 is a blip on my radar... for all the obvious reason already stated, and not.

I usually carry my LCR .357 off duty. I wanted something with a lil more capacity for when I go to the city. I bought my 9mm Shield due to capacity, size, weight, price, and good reviews/reputation. One week later I bought the .40 Shield also, because I loved my 9mm Shield so much! Both the 9mm and. 40 Shields are great guns. I've been carrying the 9mm version due to capacity and handling characteristics! But, I love my .40 Shield too. It was a tough choice on which one to carry!

I felt it at the gun shop and enjoyed the feel of it. I bought it online for $340 shipped in 9mm. I had the grip stippled and added TFO sights and carry it everyday in my waist band. My sig 224 was heavy and dbl stacked, which didn't help.

Gun Tests Mag rated the Shield 9 at an A- in one of their issues maybe a year or so ago?

I went to Cabela's not long ago with "Cabela bucks credit" thinking I'd try a 9mm compact.

My Shield with 8 rnd mag was a much fuller grip for me than the 9c with pinkie extension! I never dreamed that would be the case. Didn't buy it!

The Shield is a winner.

I had a 9mm Sigma that I never really liked and finally stopped carrying it (brought it without trying one out first). I had a 2" 38 Special for backup. A few years ago I decided I wanted a small 9mm to start carrying again. After looking at what was available I ended up with a SCCY, which I did like to carry. My wife didn't like the size of the Sigma or the trigger pull of the SCCY, so she carried my old .38 Chief's Special. Then she decided she wanted a auto 9mm, so we started going to a local range where they had rental guns to try out, and Wednesday was free rental as many models as you liked. We looked at Glock 43, Shield, Walther's and several others. Well of course I took my turn at all the different makes too. She liked the Glock 43 and that was her early Christmas present. Myself, I found I was most accurate with the Shield, followed by the Glock. While I liked the SCCY's double stack, 10 round capacity magazines & double action, the Shield seem to give me a better grip, and I was more accurate with it. I ended up buying myself a Shield 9mm and the SCCY will be sold. The SCCY was a good firearm, had over 1,000 rounds through it without any problems. I hope the Shield will do the same. Now I have to purchase new holsters, the old ones will not fit the Shield. Anyway, that's my story.

I just ordered mine today. I was hooked instantly after handing one. They are small, light, have a pretty good trigger and fit my hand GREAT! Can't wait till it comes in!

I needed a pocket pistol for my work environment (in which carrying is frowned upon) and I shot my brother's Shield very well. Not to mention I was already an M&P guy. Sold!

My Dealer knows I'm a BIG M&P fan and called me from Shot Show when they first came out. So I have one of the very first ones. Didn't care for the thumb safety (none of my other M&P's 9's or 45's have them), but it still had the trigger safety. Got a second one when they offered them with just the trigger safety. Picked up a ported one two days ago when I was at the LGS and my Dealer flopped the box on the counter along with the paperwork and a big grin on his face. I got it for my M&P "collection", but it's easy to CCW it and I can keep em' all in the black at 25 yards.

Peer pressure. Everybody said I should get one. I had a Ruger LC9 that I was thinking of getting rid of. I took it into the shop to get a trade in offer. They were really low, but a guy standing at the counter offered me $30 more and I took it. The shop had Shields for $339. I got $225 for the LC so the Shield cost me an additional $120 bucks. Seemed like a good deal so I bought one. It was a good little gun and I liked it a lot. My daughter liked it more. I may get another one (another Shield, that is. I'm stuck with the daughter. Can't trade her).

Reliability and Concealment led me down the road to Shield Utopia.

Similar to how the 147 HST led me to the ho hum 9mm after being a .45acp guy for 30 years.

The Shield hit at the right time, I was just starting to decide to get a small 9mm and the Shield seemed to fit. So I waited for all the hype to calm down. After doing everything I needed to do by checking out all the small 9's the Shield was on top. So early 2015 I purchased one. It's a great little gun that does everything well but racking the slide stinks, my wife can't do it.
