I'm a Glock person who got talked into buying a Shield 9mm by a retired cop friend of mine. I only have 200 rounds though it, fifty of which were shot by my wife. We went to the range so she could shoot her Glock 19 gen 4 and I wanted her to shoot my shield and see how it fit her hand compared to her Glock 19 and I wanted to shoot my Glock 23 a little bit. She has vert small hands and shot the Shield better than she shot her Glock, so when we were leavingI asked her if she wanted to get a Shield and she said sure, but, she forgot her purse at home with her CCW so I put it on mine, so, technically I now own two Shields. I still shoot my Glocks better, but, I have only run 150 rounds through the Shield so far so it's not fair to say I won't shoot the Shield as well as the Glocks. One thing that surprises me is they hardly have any recoil to them. I would like to have one in .40 S&W also but wouldn't use it if I had it. They are definitely easier to conceal.i have a littl spring clip on mine so I can clip it right on the inside on min pants and you practically bury the gun in your waistband.::yes:yes

I Love my Shields. I also own two but I own them in two different calibers. I have them in 9mm and 45 acp. I use to own a Glock 26 and a Glock 43. Liked them both but after buying my Shields I found myself caring those instead of the Glock's. The Glock's are now gone and now I own purely M&P's. Two Shields a Compact and have a M&P9L on order.
Happy, Happy, Happy. Congratulations on you're Shields.

I love my 9mm Shield and as mentioned very low recoil.. I tok my 14 y/p grandson shooting last week,He is also small and handled my Shield very well . Talon Grip Tape is a BIG plus IMO, Perfect on the Shield
Congrats on your new Shield and Having a wife who shoots with you and lets you buy guns lol

Love my Glocks, when I want a higher capacity, especially during cooler weather when a hoodie or over-shirt makes more sense I carry my 23C or 19. However most days, even during cooler times it is my Shield 9 that tags along with me since I prefer to appendix carry and it just sits perfectly. My GF has had a SCCY, Ruger LCP, and Glock 42 then carried my Shield for a few days...

Had to get her one so I could get mine back.

If you try another one out I'd go with the 45 ACP because of the recoil profile, the Shield 40 is just a little to snappy for my taste. Your results may very though.

When you say perfect score , what do you mean? I don't know how they do it in Tx. Here a perfect score would be the written test that is open book.

The shooting part is a joke. Empty a couple of mags into a pie plate at 7 feet.

I am all for Concealed Carry but I kind of wish they made it a little harder.

I do to. Pretty simple here.

Written was 25 questions, closed book, class just gave ya all the answers soooo...

Shooting......

20rds @ 3 10rds in 2 in different timing evolutions
20rds @ 7 10rds in 2 in different timing evolutions
10rds @ 15 10rds in 1 evolution

250 total score on a large silhouette.

Can she work the slide on your Shield 40? Those small pistols hare really stiff recoil springs, I can operate the slide on my 9mm Shield, but the same size pistol in 40 I can't handle anymore. I have a full size M&P40 and have no trouble with the slide on it, the larger pistol makes it easier.

Initially, I was hesitant to get a Shield because I have large hands. After shooting one, I was sold.

The addition of extender pads on the magazines and Talon Granular-Black grips has greatly improved control. It is now my primary CCW weapon.
