New shield in the family

Picked up a performance center shield in 9mm.
Haven't* gotten to the range yet.

Back story:
I picked up a walther ccp last year. Loved the grips, felt great in the hand
i was going to get myself a shield but the walther distractecdme
Well...... after several months and 3 trips to the factory it was finally working.
Shot well a couple hundred rounds with no problem.
i still had that nagging "when will it fail next" feeling

I don't* want to trash walther. Lots of folks have the ccp and have had no problems.* This was not my experience

My wife wanted a trigger job on her shield and when we got the pistol back and went to the range i remembered why i liked the shield so much.

There was a sale ...... they had the performance center at a decent price so now we are a 2 shield family.

The gunsmith dropped in a new trigger kit (i can't remember the model)
Lightened it up a little but not a lot since it is a carry gun and there isn't as much take up before the break.

I was gonna put the aluminum APEX trigger in my PC 9mm to fix the ungodly take up, then i started seeing a couple aluminum made triggers here an there that broke at the main hinge pin, nope no thanks, i`ll stay with the polymer trigger...polymer is a little more forgiving. But i also keep in mind, that they might NOT be getting installed properly and thats why they might be breaking.

My guess is, they aren`t paying attention where the trigger is stopping in full pull. I believe there is a factory bump stop molded in the trigger guard to help stop over travel. These shorter take up triggers arent being allowed to hit the over travel bump in the trigger guard, then you have people slamming the trigger, snaps the trigger right of the main hinge pin because thats where all the stress ends up, without being able to hit the over travel bump stop at the bottom rearward part of the trigger guard... whoops, broken aluminum trigger got over extended.
