New Shield Owner

I bought a new Shield 9 yesterday and must say that I really like the overall size and feel of this pistol. I fired a friend's Ruger LC9 and a Glock 43. I liked both of those pistols as well, but the Shield just seems to fit me better. Looking forward to taking it to the range to see how it shoots, but I suspect it will likely be at least as good as the Glock 43 in comparison.

Congrats on the Shield. And welcome to the forum. Be sure and give us a range report.

I have a PC 9 shield, shoots very good. I also have a glock 43, shoots very good too. But the shield fits my hand a little better. The 43 trigger has to short of reach for me...Mr Longfinger The 43 carry`s easier in my pocket, the shield, not so much. I`m not a fan of the ruger LC`s, i dont like the triggers at all...but if it were the only choice to pick from, i guess i`d have to get use to Good luck with your shield...shoot it, and shoot it a lot..! You`ll love it. I`m pretty happy with mine.

Keep an eye on that 7-round mag spring... i`ve had all my 7-round mag springs flip/collapse inside the mag and caused jamming.
If it happens to you, S&W will send you replacement springs... problem with that is, its the same dam spring... it`ll do it again with the springs they send you.
My cheap fix was, cut one coil out of the spring on the bottom. Since then, problem resolved. Hopefully, S&W will fix this known issue soon.
