any negatives or problems with Shield 45 ?

I have owned a 9mm and .40 S&W Shield and liked them both. I sold them and eft the S&W pistol platform for a while and I may come back. What are the good and bad points of the 45ACP Shield ? The narrow and slim profile is the main reason for me for getting interested in it. What are other positives and negatives ? I also reload ammo and would like to hear how these handle reloads too and chamber support . Any information is appreciated.

Mine's functioned flawlessly, as have those of 4-5 others I know that have one.

The concensus is that it comes with the best "as is" trigger of any of the M&P's.

They carry and shoot well. Recoil isn't bad for a 20oz. .45, and the rough feeling grip isn't noticeable to me when shooting. No problems with comfortable carry either, but I always wear an undershirt.

On my pistol, both sights were offset to the left. Not a big deal for me, because I have a sight pusher. No one else I know has one with that "problem."

No issues with mine in over 1k rounds so far.
Shot brass steel and aluminum cases with out a hicup
New and reloads from a local guy I deal with at the gun show as he has decent prices and so far all has been 100% reliable.

The 45 shoots well and has manageable recoil for its size.

Never had a single issue with my previous 40 shield either

You better have alligator skin if your gonna let it rub on your skin. I dont know ANYBODY thats tough enough skinned to handle the abrasive grip on this gun rubbing on their bare skin 24/7. If they can, they aren`t fuggin human...!

A wife beater is a thin, usually white sleeveless undershirt. My grandad used to wear them under all his shirts and if you watch any movie where there's hispanic gangbangers they usually depict them wearing wifebeaters under a flannel shirt that is buttoned only at the top button. Some also call them muscle shirts.

Chowda nailed it.
You have never watched cops I assume. Usually 99% of the folks on there are in a WB or shirtless.

Probably an non-issue but my 7 round mag kept disengaging on the 5th round. This happened to me, my instructor, and the range manager during one shooting session. Sent it to S&W and they returned it with new innards. Other than that it's been flawless.

One last question , do you Shield owners see this pistol as a "shooter" pistol ? A gun that will last a lot of thousands of rounds ? Or just a limited round gun like a "keltec" that will run so far then needs rebuilt after "X" rounds ?

It will last I believe.
I shoot mine every range outing which I try to do monthly and I shoot at least a box through it.
And it is comfortable enough shooting to "want to" each time.
