Contacted Smith through several channels, and asked if they could give any info on timeframe of if/when the 9 & 40 shield lines would eventually turn to the new M2.0 style similar to the 45 shield. As expected they were tight lipped and just gave me the typical canned response to keep an eye out on their website/Facebook page/Twitter page.

For 164 years, Smith & Wesson has manufactured high-quality, innovative, firearms for professionals and consumers alike.

At this time we don't have any further info on what products are coming in the near future but we consider customer input a valuable resource from which to draw on during the decision making process.

Please watch our website and Facebook pages for new product announcements.

Your comments are being forwarded to the Marketing Department and appropriate Management Team for review and consideration for future production.

Thank You for choosing Smith & Wesson / Thompson Center products. Have a great day.

Thats funny....lol... S&W`s typical canned response... and very true.
S&W themselves dont have a clue when it comes to coming up with anything innovative anymore... they just steal the ideas from people like you and me. Without the shooting public, to tell them what&how to build next, they`re clueless to our wants and needs. S&W themselves are nothing more than a canned company itself, run by greedy CEO`s. Their quality fell off the cliff long ago. There WAS once a time when S&W was a great company... now they`re nothing more than bean counters blowing sub quality products out the door. Look at how they went to china on us... split their company into sub-groups... buying up small companies lately... stripping the employee`s.

Sorry for the rant... but people really need to see what S&W is REALLY like, from the inside.

Damn, never knew it was that bad. But tbh I guess I'm not surprised.

Oh yeah and for this guy:

I guess I owe you a reply as to what difference it makes when people excessively and unnecessarily use the quote function:

My point was there is no reason to take up more space by quoting someone's entire message when the context of your reply makes it known exactly what you are referring to. Especially when you are quoting someone whose exact same long ass string of text is directly above your post. I hate trying to read a thread and every reply has people quoting the entire message of something a couple posts above it. I don't need to re-read someone's reply 6 times because people keep quoting it on the same page<<< Lmao.
It takes up unnecessary screen space and is annoying to scroll past. Plus these forums are free to us, and as a mod on other forums we like to keep server space from being used unnecessarily. I get it if the thread is 10 pages long and you are quoting someone from page 3, but when it's all still on the same page, especially the post directly above your reply...come on anyone with a 3rd grade+ reading comprehension knows what your reply is in reference to. But I also understand that the quote features on online forums are overused by, let's just say, the more experienced generations
