Thanks NoQuota.

I did notice an odd thing. My FS and Compact both came in hard cases. The Shield on the other hand came in a cardboard box. It clearly came from S&W this way as it had the company and M&P logos on it.

Also there was no test fire shell.

Based on past experience, I just found this unusual.

All Shield's come in a cardboard box, and the states that used to require a fired shell casing no longer require them so they are not included anymore.

Enjoy your Shield, I sure like mine!

My Shield came in a cardboard box, also without a casing.

I just thought S&W was trying to keep the cost as low a possible?

But then my 6904 came in a cardboard box, in 1993, so who knows?

Thanks everyone. My CYA Supply Co. IWB holster for the gun arrived last night. My initial impression is favorable however I have not had the chance to wear it for any appreciable time (I cannot carry on my job ).

I will write a review of the holster once I feel I have enough information to justify it.
