I am having feed problems with My 45 shield seems that the slide has to much presure being forced against it from the loaded magazine and is being slowed down by the added presure exerted on the guide dogs in the rail slides.
Has been back to S&W Factory 2 times and they say nothing wrong with it.
My question to them is why does it fetch up when loading a round and why does it sometime not come into battery.
My nephew has the identical M&P 45 Shield and his is also starting to do the same stunts.
I am taking my shield to Trident armory This morning and have the slide machined and polished. I will keep you posted.

Did you ask S&W what ammo they were testing your gun with...???
I would NOT let them machine the slide...VERY bad idea.
Have you tried a new recoil spring assembly...???
Are you cleaning/lubing the gun properly...???

No Problems here

My Shield 45 has had about 200 rounds through it. Nice soft shooter and accurate. I've been running reloaded Hornady 185gr XTP's over Hodgdon Longshot without issue. Only complaint is a few occurrences of slide follow after last round; not locking open. I've had three other guys shoot it, including a novice shooter who actually limp-wristed my M&P 40 full size enough to cause feed jams (a first for that pistol). The only other shooter induced problem has been short stroking the slide and failing to pick up the first round on a fresh mag. Overall, very happy with my Shield 45. One shooting buddy ordered his 45 after trialing mine versus another buddy's Shield 9mm PC ported.

Not locking open after last round: (your reloads)
3 things come to mind that can cause that.
1) Load not hot enough to push slide back far enough to lock open.
2) Load to hot causing it to cycle to fast and not allow the slide lock to come up in time.
3) Dirty gun, to little lube to function.

Just sent mine back for not chambering a round when racking slide with either mag. I'll post if / when I get it back.

Only used factory ammo.

Folks, when you think you have a gun and/or ammo issue, please tell people what your gun AND ammo was. (this last post was question to ammo used) This can shine some bigger light on whats going on. If you`re vague with your descriptions, you`ll possibly be having a ton of people asking many questions that might not need to be asked if you have good details/descriptions of what your problems are...thank you.

Its difficult to speculate what a problem is without the needed information. A lot of these issues are ammo related and we need all the specifics we can get, if factory ammo exactly what load is it? If your own reloads we need very specific info about the bullet, brand, size, weight, etc, also the specific info about the powder, brand and weight, and what primer used, often specific info about the crimp is needed, roll or taper crimp etc.
