Looks like just stupidity on my part. I emailed my armorer friend and he asked, are you loading the full mag into the gun with the slide in the forward position?

Went to the range today with my brother. We get there and he forgot his ammo for his .40 ( been there ) so we shared a box of 100 with the shield .45. He had 2 FTF's, I had zero. Don't know if I was "lucky" or what.

Anyway, I'm happy. Tru Glo's will be going on next week. I absofrigginlutely could not see other than a black post never mind the front white dot. Must be me at 63.................

WOWWWW you`re battin a thousand with that gun...lol... i feel your pain, i cant see shit anymore either...lol

I use a small hand drill and knock out the white dots and put orange sight paint in the front, green sight paint in the rear sights... i can see it way better now. Somethin about both being painted white, all i can see is just a blur of white mush. At least i can see the different colors, but still burry to an extent... damn old eye`s ya know...lol

As for your brother, you might better do a ammo pre-check before heading to the range next time...lol

Just curious, what's wrong with loading a full mag into the gun with the slide in the forward position?

Actually, theres nuffin wrong with it outflyin... some full mags tend to latch harder than others at full capacity. I`ve not really had any problems with S&W`s with loading full mags in them, but i do have many glocks that are hard to latch a full mag in the gun. My G30S is definitely the worst with both the 10rd and the 9rd mags when loaded full. You have to slam them in hard or they wont latch. Thank god i dont carry or shoot it much anymore...lol.

I carry my shield 45 7+1 exclusively. I load 7 in mag cahmber one top off and slap it home. Requires no extra force or effort on top of than when inserting it with 7 and chamber empty.

The full mag (both times) is inserted with slide fwd easy seamzy
