Question New Shield: Erratic Ejection

Picked up my 4th 9mm Shield from GrabAGun this morning, did a quick clean/lube then headed for the range to break-in both it and its mags.
Fired Blazer Brass 124gr and Federal HST 124gr, over 150rds total. The Blazer has been 100% in my other Shields after several hundred rds.

From the start, ejection was erratic, everything from straight-up to normal. Also experienced two FTE's w/faulty ejection (different mags [including a previously tested mag] & different ammo both times).

Some research has shown that Shields can have erratic ejection so it's not an unknown problem.

For the time being I'm willing to chalk it up to a needed break-in period (which none of my other Shields have needed), or is this something I should be concerned about and contact S&W CS?

Seems odd.

All of my M&P's over the last 10 years have always dropped my brass in a small area about two feet starboard of my right foot.

Erratic ejection...???? I`ve not heard of that many M&P`s with that issue. Only ones i`ve seen in my area, were the people that used shitty ammo... and or they didnt clean them when they bought them new.

I would have to agree with Rick... i`ve never had an issue with ANY M&P ejection, whether it was a shield, a compact, a fullsize. All have ejected nicely. Maybe give it some time to wear in. If its still an issue, say 500 rounds, then i would send it in to S&W. These guns are mass produced, gonna get a fussy one now an then. Maybe you`ll just have to shoot the hell out of it for awhile.

Update:
Put another hundred rds through it this morning, function was 100% w/the Blazer Brass 124gr but ejection is still all over the place.
I can live w/this for now, but will keep an eye on this particular Shield.

I don't care where they go, as long as they go. I guess if I wanted to reload the cases I'd want to be able to place a bucket somewhere to catch them all, but I don't.

Sounds more ammo related than hardware (pistol) related. If it bothers you that much, try a different brand of ammo.

I tried Blazer Brass a few times and didn't like it as much as good ol' Federal Maroon box from WalMart.

Good ole bulk federal ammo, pretty tough to beat for the money.
I shoot it as well, my favorite pick over the WWB these days.
Consistent accuracy, feeds perfect every time.
