Why Do We Want/Need The Shield 45

1) Why exactly did you want the shield 45

2) How do you compare the recoil to other 45`s you already own

3) Is it now your primary concealed carry

4) How many extra mags do you carry

5) Which do you prefer: 6+1 or 7+1

6) Is this your first 45acp

EDIT:
I forgot to put in the poll about what self defense ammo you carry in your shield 45, if you guys can go back and edit, that would be great.

1. I like my PC Shield 9, and knew that the Shield 45 would be a good carry pistol.
2. The recoil is more than any of my 1911's, but still not bad, and easily manageable.
3. No. It's second to my PC Shield 9, as both are used primarily for "bad back day" carry.
4. I usually carry two reloads for all my "low-cap" carry pistols. I NEVER carry less than two; even for hi-cap pistols.
5. 6+1 in the pistol; 7+1 for reloads.
6. Not even close.

Edit: Carry ammo for all my 1911's is WWB Personal Protection 230gr JHP, simply because the bullet profile is very similar to ball, and it's fed reliably in every pistol I've ever shot it through.

6) Is this your first 45acp

1) Had the 40 n loved it wanted a 45 carry gun and wasnt giving Kimber 1K for a "might get a good one" pistol

2) Alil more than my 1911 govt model but the "feel" is lighter than the 40 shield I own. Less jump in 45 vs 40 imo

3) yes replaced my 40 version and in STX its my yr rd carry.

4) Only have 7 rd mags and I carry it plus 1 with a spare on me as well as one in each vehicle console.

5) Well I sold the oem 6 and bought all 7 rd mags SOOO.

6) In a carry gun yes but not 1st one.

Gonna put this one in my back pocket for a bit.
Hopefully I'll receive mine this week, and can get started putting it through the paces.
Be able to give complete straight up answers after that.

I got mine for 3 reasons. Easy to carry, it's a 45, and I simply liked it.

As you might guess I love the .45 acp cartridge. I was looking for a smaller pistol to carry and the M&P Shield seemed to fit my wants/needs. I have had a chance to shoot 100 rounds through it. I really like the size and even for a small pistol the recoil is very manageable.
