They really dont even show his FDE M&P that much in the video. This is assuming that its his and S&W didnt just bring a prototype along for some testing.
Looks like he swapped a regular backstrap from a standard M&P, but I don't know about the front one. Looks pretty cool. He could have also taped those areas off and cerakoted the frame. If that's the standard DEB...it looks awfully light (more of a beige than a brown/green).
Edit-The more I look at it...I think he simply cerakoted the frame a different color and taped off the straps...because the serial number plate is black on the DEB/FDE guns, and his is the same color as the rest of the frame. Going by that picture ^^^
Could be the GunKote / CeraKote refinishing that I see Accurate Iron doing?... Hell, Bowie Tactical also has great photos of slide refinishing on his site, but im not sure what method he uses.
Ive got emails into AI and Burwell right meow to do my 9c...
My OCD ass was messing with mine the other day and started to remove the finish on the front slide contours. So I figured I could use this as an excuse to get mine all jazzed up. I would love to have Bowie do it (As he's closest), but on his site he indicates a 16 weeks completion time, not sure if I can go that long apart...
Anyone had any of the site sponsers do work for them? if so, how was the experience and craftsmanship?
In a nut shell, I want a slide refinish and stippling galore...
These are from another thread at AR15.com on the Magpul industry section where Costa and Haley sometimes post. These pics were posted by Costa when someone else asked the same question.
Now if I had to refinish my slide, and could match almost the identical color the Smiths FDE frame, I would do it like that. Because the pics evnash posted look awesome.

The stippling and frame work on several of Costa's guns is done by Ben Simonson at Boresight Solutions. He's done that two tone finish on MnP frames for a while now. Its a coating, but I don't recall which material he uses. Ben is an excellent craftsman, and a true gentleman to boot.
My friend Stephen of Blue Force Gear has a tan MnP .45 that's a couple years old. I believe the slide is finished in Cerakote, which is holding up really, really well. Stephen shoots A LOT.
