where do you sell your guns?

Title says it all. Thought I would get some of your opinions. I have a f/s m&p 9mm bought middle of 2015 and was going to sell it off to add some spice to my guns. Gun shops only offer like 250 and that is not happening. Does 400 hundred sound like to much for a f/s with the original box 3 17 round mags a safari land level 3 retention holster with only 1000 rounds through it and it just got new factory sites and they found nothing wrong besides that at the factory. Has anyone ever sold a gun on this site with good results? I haven't put it in the classifieds yet. Thanks

I have found that a used M&P is very hard to sell unless you give it away.

Last (only one, actually) M&P9 I bought used was a minty, low round count one with box, mags and all papers for $350.00.

I traded a 9c in the same condition a few years ago along with two extra mags for full retail value (then $569.00) in a private sale.

That's the only one I've ever gotten rid of, and I damn sure didn't have to "give it away."

Thanks for the responses guys. I will not give this one away or sell for 250. Just don't want to sell to the wrong person. I didn't know if anybody ever had any luck selling on gun on this sites classifieds or not.

Put it on Gunbroker.com and set a minimum bid of around $400.00 to $450.00. I,would, also, reccomend a ffl to ffl transfer.

That sounds like the best plan to me... There are plenty of area Facebook gun sales pages, thats probably as risky as Craigslist.. I prefer to trade mine in at the LGS and just take a beating but at least know THEY will do an FFL... I dont do that anymore. With the prices used guns ACTUALLY bring now a days, its really not worth it to SELL a good used gun, your better off just keeping the damn thing.

Reminds me, I need to buy a Hipoint for a sacrificial weapon when the blue helmets go door to door... give up the junk easy while the good stuff is in hide.

I saw a FS 9 under the used counter just tonight for 435. Even at that price, it will be gone within 2 weeks.

i heard the FB bsot pages involved in private gun sales are going to be banned soon by zuckerburg . was enough that one im involved with and had a current listing with pre empted the ban by banning gun sales on their page immediatly. i wrote on the posting that they cave to zuckerburg at there own peril and then left that group.
most of the time if i want to sell id rather trade. Gets harder to trade when you have to deal with shipping both guns to different FFL`s and deal with them and their fees and waiting periods. But the net is full of forums like this one where they usually have a for sale section, theres sites like gun broker and others. Gun broker has a convenient list of local FFL`s and what they charge, etc etc. Bottom line though alot of the time you will have to eat it if you want to sell one fast. Any more for me id rather just hang on to as much as i can and just buy a new gun outright. so much so that i recently had to add another gun safe, lol.

You can post it on "Armslist.com" and have it nation, state or locally only.

I have found that Armslist works pretty well; have sold two Rugers using that service. May I suggest that the closer your gun is to stock, the better chances it will sell. Be very detailed about any defects the gun may have, and what terms you accept. In my case, cash in face-to-face transactions, U.S. Postal Service money order if shipping to an FFL (add shipping and handling to your purchase price; tell the buyer you will do this). ALSO, consider getting a Google Voice account to give you a non-traceable number so gun thieves cannot track you down.
