Factory 'lube' on new m&p?

Anyone know what oil s&w uses on new pistols before they ship? I'm going to use EWL and want to make sure it's compatible with the residual factory lube.

I would not worry about it.
Clean and lube it as you would any gun.
I went straight to using Corrosion X for guns on mine on day one.
So far it hasnt melted or deformed in any way.

I think what they put on is more of a shipping and storage protectant than a lube. Upon purchase, I cleaned all of my M&P's thoroughly with Breakfree CLP (been using it since the early 80's) and have had no issues with compatibility.

You can use rubbing alcohol to remove all the old lube if you think the EWL isn't compatible.

I have a big ole can of Rem Oil thats probably 8-10 years old. Not sure if it's the same as the new stuff. But the old has plenty of solvents in it, and does a great job in cleaning my guns. Then I wipe down and lube with my normal gun lube.

I bought a new M&P few days ago and came from the factory with almost no oil on it.
I cleaned with Isopropyl alcohol and went with SEAL1 CLP plus.
All my guns get the same treatment and it's great!
