Mother in Law's comment

My wife had her gallbladder removed and have been sitting at the hospital bored and babying my wife, which I was told, I am not very good at. My mother in law was here, and she has always been a huge supporter of guns and the the 2nd amendment, but her daughter, my wife's sister, different father's, and they were not raised together, recently married a black man, don't get me wrong, a super good guy, who I like 100 times more than my sister in law, but he is not a gun supporter, but he has never had a problem with me carrying, well my MIL says tonight, you know hand guns are fine, but why would anyone need a assault rifle, and I think that they should ban them for good....Now where do you think that came from. She says nobody needs 30 round clips....I simply reminded her of the LA riots, do you remember the Koreans on their rooftop's with AR type weapons, and 30 round clips, asked her would they be alive if all they had were pistols....She agreed. I told her, when they take one gun Carolyn, then they are going to take another and another.....It shall not be infringed!!! Got her back on the right side for the time being. By the way, she has a beautiful S&W revolver with real pearl handles....Old boyfriend gave it to her in the late 60's.....

Good save! You have proven that even gun folks can go somewhat deranged but that they can be brought back to sanity.

Nothing against your MIL, but I've never heard an anti gunner that knows the subject. So many people hear something that sounds smart and correct and they start believing it.

Not too mention, if everything we don't "need" was banned, who the hell would want to live.

Sounds like best plan of attack would be get BIL butt to the range and let him "enjoy" the sport. Heck he may even learn that guns arent evil and possibly you can convert him as a result.

Nice save however you do need to work on your terminology. ARs use magazines not "clips".

Update to the story......My sister in law, and brother in law are now CCDW card carriers!!!!! Finally got my BIL to go out shooting with the AR, and he loved it, and he shot my shield and he wouldn't hardly give it back. He know has his own Shield and his wife my SIL now has a Ruger LCP......I have converted Liberals, what have you done today to piss of a Liberal? Its amazing how against they were about having guns and had never shot one....

First, it's the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs. Second, you did the right thing by taking the BIL to the range. Best way to show someone that guns are not inherently evil. It's a tool that can be used for good or bad. Best of luck going forward.

Good story about guns for once. Now to get to the other 150 million. Like eating an elephant, one bite at a time.
