I'm looking for my first pistol and have chosen to go with an M&P 40. I am not new to shooting at all, only new when it comes to buying. I would like an M&P 40 with a thumb safety. It wont be used as a concealed carry weapon but more as a range weapon and home protection. I'm wondering how much should a used M&P 40 cost and what should it come with?
Welcome from Texas! :gathering: I haven't seen many used M&P's because folks usually keep them. However, the few I have seen have run from about $450 to $480 or so.
Bear in mind these have been at gun stores, so a private individual may sell for less. Have you checked Gunbroker?
I would look for the three backstraps that come with a new gun, as well as, the S&W case, and at least two mags. Hope this helps!
Welcome from Wisconsin! I bought a brand new M&P40C for $398 at a police supply store plus I got the Veteran's rebate of $50 from S&W. It came with 3 mags. It would have cost $455 with Trijicon night sights & that's the way I ordered it but for some reason it was delivered to the store without them. I saved enough money by accepting it that way to buy a new holster & a few other items. The full size M&Ps were the same price. Previously I bought a used full size M&P40 which came out of police service for $340. It was equipped with Trijicons & came with 4 mags.
