Poor Soul from California

Hello, all! Yes, I'm stuck behind the iron curtain of Democrat Liberal Extremists.

Smithy M&P lovers. I'm a long time Sig DA/SA guy. I hated Glocks and never considered the M&P line until I won a free Shield at a raffle. I tried it and was so impressed that I bought a 9c. I am on the hunt for a FS and LS now.

The M&P line has restored my faith in striker fired pistols. I am on the fence between my 9c and my Sig P320. It's a tough one.

I want to find a FS9 slide and the conversion kit to use on my 9c frame. Please be gentle; I'm new.

Welcome to a former 55 year resident of Commiefornia!

retired in 2014 and got out of the state as quick as i could.
had bought my first handgun, a M&P 40FS there and waited to increase my collection til i got out of the state.

since leaving, i picked up a Shield 9, a 40c and a M&P 15T AR. NO restrictions and also got my 5 conceal carry permit for $50.
took me about 20 minutes for the paperwork and fingerprints. simply walked into the county's monthly sign up.

native Californian but couldn't take the politics anymore and how it has been ruined over the past 30 years.

Welcome to the forum from the still free, but surrounded by the commie states to our south and commie country to our north, state of Maine.

I can understand how people with jobs don't want to leave, but I can't understand how folks, after retirement, stay there. Good move bikendan! I have a friend in N. Kalifornia who plans to get out after retirement, he can't wait to get out.

I posted this in another thread, but I'm big on de-Californizing pistols on the CA roster. LCI and MDC removed. Also popped off the sear safety and manual safety as I have no use for them.

Here's what I've done to the Shield that I won from a raffle:

Loaded Chamber Indicator delete from Apex Tactical

Manual Safety delete

I'm also using the MagGuts internals. I experimented with nail polish for a cheaper combat sight picture:

Orange Nail Polish

Yellow (current)

I did the same nail polish modification to my 9c. Better than paying $100+ for new sights. Gotta do what I can with what I have.

Welcome from TX. I do the orange nail polish too, but I do the face and leave the dot white. Better for my eyes. Stay strong out there in CA, or stay strong and come to TX.

Nice. You prefer the white dot to contrast in a background that pops more. You only do this to the front sight? Did you see how I used black nail polish in the rear?

I like CA weather, but we'll see how much longer I can stand being here. Pending the next election for CA.
