New Shield 9mm owner

Hello. Just purchased my first S&W product yesterday. I got the Shield 9mm with factory tritium night sights and no thumb safety. I was torn between this pistol and a Springfield XDs 9mm that I could've had for $10 less. I eventually chose this one over the XDs in part because the reviews online were basically a wash with neither holding a real advantage reliability wise. Plus, I liked the true night sights over the front fiber optic sight and I liked the fact there were 3 magazines included with the S&W. One thing I did like about the XDs was the grip size. It was a little thicker but I plan on buying a Hogue slip on grip for this gun and plan to get a N82 IWB holster for it as well. If you can think of anything I should know about my gun that may not be general knowledge please let me know. Thanks

Welcome aboard!

Give it a good cleaning and lube before heading to the range.

Oh, and when you do go to the range take lots of ammo with you...they go through ammo like poop through a goose!
