New to forum from minnesota

Hi all, I have been shooting the M&P core 9mm with FF3 in 8 MOA for the first full season of carry optics(2016). I also just picked up the same gun as a back up but with the ported barrel and i will just switch out the barrel from my other gun if i need it or shoot open but i doubt the ports will work with factory ammo. And with the new rule change, "no more 10 round restriction per mag in carry optics" im excited to fill up the 140mm mags and shoot some matches. Season here in Minnesota starts in april which gives me enough time to do some dry fire practice. Anyone else shooting carry optics?

Welcome to the forum from central Maine!

Yes, I shoot my CORE in CO (I also shoot in PCC division) and have from the start of CO division. I'm tickled that the mag restriction has been lifted. I ordered some 140mm extensions today for the beginning of our outdoor shooting season in April. 23 rounds is much more fun (in one sense) than 10 rounds. But it was challenging to plan those reloads for 10 rounds. CO is becoming "Open lite" division but I'm not complaining. I have no idea what they're thinking but I'm up for the happier sticks but I was OK with the 10 round limit too. It just changes the game for CO division shooters.

I was considering shooting the CORE a few times in a different division to use my 170mm extensions, just for kicks. I wouldn't have been at all competitive. I think the rule change will take care of that desire for me and I'll keep the big sticks for PCC. I never anticipated the 10 round limit being lifted; who did ? But it'll be fun. A high round count stage and only one mag change will be fun. If they move to 170mm mags I'm already ready. Either way though, I won't need as many mag holders on my belt as I currently have.

I wish I owned stock in Taylor Freelance. :-)
