New in Vegas

Hey guys, just got my first S&W anything yesterday. Real glad I ordered the Apex flat trigger and whatnot beforehand. This will end up being a steel challenge, maybe USPSA open gun so I'll probably be trolling the classifieds mostly for parts.

Threads are always useless without pics right?

Welcome from central Maine!

Is that a optics ready 9? If so the only reason you'd need to go into USPSA Open division is due to the flat face trigger you plan to install. If you can install the internals and keep the OEM trigger as seen, you can install an optic and compete in Carry Optics. But if you want to be in Open go for it. I did exactly what I suggested to you just as CO was hatched as a division and I immediately changed course from Open division mid stream and into CO. For many months I was the only shooter in CO locally. That was the pits not having anyone to shoot against. Now there's plenty of us locally. Think of it as "Open Lite" division. We can ever use moderately extended mags now (140? mm).

Good looking out. I'm waiting on a Deltapoint that should be here this week for one of my other pistols. Plan on making a decision on whether I what I'm going to use on this after that. I've had RMRs in the past and I'm feeling a different flavor these days.

Yes it is. I appreciate the advice, but going open is more a want than a need. I have a few stock and lightly modified guns, but nothing with major changes. I'm probably the odd ball on both counts, but open is just giving me an excuse for a project and I'm only in it for fun anyway.

Besides the flat face trigger is already in, I start stippling this week, and the new barrel and comp should ship as soon as KKM gets caught up.
