I like the medium. I actually prefer the feeling of the large, but I shoot better with the medium. It really sinks my hand under the beavertail. Plus, the medium allows my finger to reach the trigger with the first pad easier.

I haven't made it to the range yet (planning on going tomorrow) I have the small backstrap installed because it seems to fit me the best.

The large grip 'feels' better to my hands with my eyes closed, but the medium grip makes my M&P 9mm point better/quicker/more natural.

So I stuck with the medium size.

Small for me. I agree with Ysued, feels the closest to a 1911. On a 1911, I like a flat mainspring housing and short trigger best.

I too preferred the FEEL of the large grip insert, but the other day I was practicing drawing and aiming with my MP40 and I noticed something interesting. I found that while I "felt" that I had achieved a good proper grip on it, the alignment of the weapon was just slightly askew from being straight inline with my forearm. The alignment of the gun was just a tad off to the left. I had to readjust my grip to get it back into alignment.

This made me recall my father's comment when he first fired the MP (I had the large insert in that day as well) when he said it "feels like it is trying to rotate in my hand".

So, I have switched to the medium insert and do not experience the same off-axis grip during draw tests. As Knut said, it now points more "naturally" for me too.

I'm sure this probably varies from person to person and hand-shape to hand-shape. This is one of the strong suits of the MP line, though - being able to adjust the grip to the shooter.

Interesting observation snscott. I might be seeing the same thing but I need to investigate further. Perhaps this is a case for shaving the swell sides like Jester has done...

I like the palmswell on the large because it seems to locate the trigger to my finger more directly on the pad but the medium fits my hand better. I would also like to see a pic of Jesters.

medium - it felt right from the factory, so I left it alone.

Medium for me. I spent an hour rotating between all three and finally settled on the medium. I don't have huge hands, and my wife's hands are much smaller, but even she prefers the medium.

Ditto on the trigger finger position factor noted by riverrat27. Also, large just seems to give me a more comfortable two-hand grip with palms and fingers getting where they need to be more naturally.

The large feels best in my hand, but I have to do something about the side swell of it, sometimes it aggravates my palm; it would be best thinned out to a 1911 thickness, no added bumps.

I use the large on my .40 and .45 fs but can use the medium equally well on them. However I use the medium on my .45C. I tried the large first but it puts my thumb too far back on the slide stop. When I fired the stop would jab the side of my thumb about 3/8" from the tip. I put the medium on and no more jabbing from the stop. The only thing I can figure out is the lack of beavertail makes it flip differently the slightly shorter grip changes the position of the swell. I should switch out the slide to my FS frame and see what happens.

Started out with the mediums on both the full-sized 9mm and .45. Played with them then switched to the large. Compared to the previous, they seemed too big so went back to the medium. After messing with them further and comparing how much room I had for my offhand for grip on my 1911, I settled on the large inserts.

I voted small. I noticed that a couple of folks voted small and it reminded them somewhat of a 1911,

I got that impression also. However, I have smallish hands, so it was really the only option for me.
