I am a member of the NRA and the NYSPA and belong to a local gun club. New York state is a tough and fairly uncooperative place to live as a gun owner, but if not for an organization like the NRA I am sure legislation against our rights to own firearms would run rampant. At least you know that becoming a member will support a group of individuals who will make an effort to uncover, identify and take action to prevent the passing of laws that infringe upon our second ammendment right. We all know that our representatives our generally to busy trying to get re-elected and making promises to special interest groups who lobby and donate $$$$ to their campaigns. Don't get me wrong there is the occasional congressman or senator who enjoys the sport as much as we do, but they are far and few in between. I was told that this was a quote by Thomas Jefferson, but I could never find it in his papers. The closest reference is that it was used in a movie called "V" for Vendetta. "People should not be afraid of their government, but rather government should be afraid of the people"

The fact that I can still own my guns, and especialy that I can ccw.

Those are the benefits that I see on a daily basis.

Who else is out there fighting the antis? A fight which by the way is very expensive. If you think they spend too much time fund raising, and asking you for money, think how much you have to lose when the antis take away all your guns and ammo.

You bet I'm a member, a Lifetime member.

I became a Life Member in the early sixties. I think it cost me something like 45 or 50 dollars. Talk about your Great investments.

I'm a member as of the beginning of this year. I haven't done anything as far as voted or help campain yet. But I do read my America's First Freedom pretty extensively.

One day I will wire my ass and my brain together and become more involved.

Every time you purchase from www.midwayusa.com you can round up to the nearest dollar for donation to the NRA, or more if you would like. So you now can donate and get cool stuff too.
