Hello Everyone;

I run a small company that specializes in fresh water fishing. We have been thinking about doing some advertising at gun shows because they are so cheap to display at, but we are wondering how much cross interest there is for fishing among shooting enthusiast.

So, do you like to fish?

Thanks for your comments!

I'm a casual fisher. I like to get out on the water a few times a year. I'm not the best fisherman but I still enjoy it. We obviously have plenty of places to fish here in Michigan.

My wife and I live on a lake. We fish all the time.

Live on a lake in Columbus, OH... but have a family lake house in North East PA on 20 mile creek, AKA Steelhead Highway. Part of the family even puts on sports shows based outta Erie. Best fishing trip so far was to AK, definitely gotta get back up there soon!

I think there is a lot of cross over at gun shows, I've always seen at least some fishing gear of some sort at the shows around here.

I sometimes shoot while I am fishing. I carry a 22 lr most of the time in the summer while wading or floating and have used it to cut plugs out of tree limbs in the past. All other times when I am outdoors, there is usually a pistol somewhere close by.

Most shows have some fishing equipment in them as do most sporting goods stores that sell guns.

Thanks for the input. I think we are going to give it a try. For a show cost of only $200.00, it will not take many people to become customers to make it pay off.

I'm to busy tossing lead down range to fish lol. Last time I was fishing was maybe five or six years ago so I would say I just like to shoot.

Spend too much time at work, not getting enough time in for fishing and shooting. I'm making a change come May, will be working evening shift for a piece.

HELL YES! I just got the boat out of storage last weekend... Now if the damned thunderstorms would stop for a bit, I could actually USE the boat.

I think it's a brilliant idea...

Gun guys love to spend on toys... Fishing gear is just another toy.

I shoot a lot and I fish a lot. I shoot shotgun and pistol at the range and I also bird hunt. I am a fly fisherman for trout and I also fish for striped bass. When I am fly fishing, I always carry my M&P45 either concealed or open depending whether I am in the deep woods or will encounter others.

Advertising at a gun show for fishing makes sense. I think people who shoot and people who fish are similar enough demographics that it is well worth cross- advertising.
