My choice is Makers Mark.

For a smooth Whiskey, you really can't beat Jack Daniels Single Barrel.

Between Makers Mark and Knob Creek, I'd go with Knob Creek. As I'm typing, I'm sipping on some Wild Turkey Single Barrel. Good stuff.

I have yet to have Knob Creek, but Makers okay, but not the smoothest whiskey/bourbon Ive had. My vote goes to Jameson 12yr which is damn smooth.

These have too much 'bite' for my taste. So far the best I have tasted is JD Single Barrel. But I am going to try the Woodford Reserve.

Knob Creek hands down, Whiskey!, from the label to the taste reminds me of being in america so good.

Eh, Makers is alright, a little too sweet and syrupy for my tastes. I much prefer Knob Creek, Bookers, Basil Hayden, Eagle Rare, Russel's Reserve...the list goes on. Have any of you tried the MM "46"? Haven't tried that yet, kinda curious about it.

Makers 46 is the best. It's not "one-dimensional" like the original Makers.

I went on a Scotch kick a few months ago... I had to stop b/c I was drinking it to fast / spending to much money. My favorite by far was Balvenie Single Barrel 15y. I tried all spectrums and I still have some Laphroaig, its good with a bold cigar.

Now I guess I have to get into Wiskey/Bourbon

Great first post, however votes from the POLL show something different.

For those who know what I am talking about there has been a running debate on which bourbon taste's the best. I thought I could stress the fact that Makers Mark is a better Bourbon than Knob Creek... In fact I am willing to put YukonGlocker's Knob Creek and my Markers Mark in a virtual taste test. Mmmmmmmmmm, yup much smoother and great taste too.

I am a bartender in Vegas, I sold 8 times more Makers than Knob Creek, that is my 3 cents.

You really should expand your list of brands as you have over looked some very good ones!
I'm a WT101 & Jim Beam Black apprecitionist myself..
