there is an actual shortage of makers mark the business grew 11% more than projected so they have proofed down makers mark due to demand and it's a trend you will see across much of the Bourbon Business. the recommendation of Dave Pickerell (Creator of Whistle Pig Rye, former Master Distiller at Maker's Mark) is look to Craft distilling for the next wave of higher proof spirits.

Makers Mark is excellent.......been drinking it for over 30 years. Another excellent whiskey is Wild Turkey Rare Breed. If you've not tried it yet, it worth a taste test!

enjoying a fine whiskey, if you happen to have a fine cuban in the other hand thats
not so bad either. thank you for putting this poll together.

I enjoy a nice 140 proof apple shine on the weekends but other than that, us Wyoming folk love our whiskey

For whisky I'd take Pendleton over either. They were better before they became main stream. They had to change distilleries to keep up with demand. It's Canadian whisky imported in casks and bottled in Oregon.
I actually drink Snake River Stampede which is 8 year aged whisky and as far as I can tell is the original distributer for Pendleton as it was 8 year before the change. Plus Snake River is less money, and it's still bottled in Oregon about 45 mins from my house.
I prefer the smoothness of these but to answer your question Makers Mark out of the 2. I haven't tried Woodford Reserve but my buddy from Kentucky claims that's what all the locals drink.

It's really not a fair comparison, both are superb. That said, Maker's Mark is my personal favorite. Tastes better IMHO. Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve and Booker's are right up there too.

Well just finished a bottle of MM and really liked it I am usually a Jim Beam guy will not drink and crown crap products my bourbon has to come out of USA. I will say I like bullet bourbon better than MM though. Have not tried MM 46 yet. Its hard to type buzzed. Drink whatever you like just in moderation or not.

Of those two, the Maker's Mark. Buillett is very good, and Weller Special Reserve is my personal long-term favorite bourbon. Favorite scotch is Glenfiddich.
