I am going to be open minded even tho I'm an old dog. I'm ready to try other products as a test when this bottle runs out.

That's because he can't spell Vodka

tread lightly

I will say after I clean my guns, I wash lightly to avoid taking away all the smell. The smell reminds me of the good time I had at the range. Fabulous!

Waiting on a 638, am afraid with the aluminum frame, I might have to make an exception for this one. Still researching Hoppe's#9 OK or alternative.

I am DIE HARD HOPPE'S. But times change......(not yet).

Me too. 47 years in fact. I hear so much good about Frog Lube but I just can't bring myself to use it. I'm old fashioned and a purist at heart. I've never had a problem using the good, same old way for all this time. I won't even use a bore snake. One thing however that is out of character for me is I started using non-chlorinated brake fluid a few years ago. It works great after slopping #9 all over and scrubbing it with brushes, Q-Tips and pipe cleaners and then hosing it all off with the spray. It just rolls off.

Ballistol smells better IHMO plus its about a thousand times better as a CLP than Hoppes.

Ballistol is non toxic as well and can be used as a wound disinfectant.

Try that with Hoppes!! better yet, don't.
