I think a better idea would be a women's perfume that smells like gun oil or new car interior. I can guarantee that these will attract a man better than something that smells like flowers.

A few years ago it was available as an air freshener for your vehicle...

Even though I use other cleaning/lubing products now I love the smell of Hoppe's #9. Mostly because of nostalgia. I've gotten to love the smell of Ballistol & CLP & hopefully FrogLube soon . Unfortunately nobody else in my household does but FrogLube is supposed to be "minty fresh".

What is that, some sort of mouth wash?
Seriously, I am going to try that CLP stuff next. If it works to my liking, I will keep the Hoppe's #9 around for air freshener.
Old Dog tho, if it ain't broke.......
I will try to give CLP a "fair, unbiased" trial.

It is such a garbage solvent I haven't even owned any in probably close to 20 yrs. I won't even by a cleaning kit that has it in it. I voted no because it wouldn't make a good smelling aftershave but it might be better suited as an aftershave than a gun cleaning solvent.

That's not weird, what would be weird is, if you were bent over in an ally huffing it out of a paper bag!!!

OK....My apologies if I am straying from the OP's intended purpose of the thread but, I myself, am not set on any particular solvent and don't mind trying different ones so which one do you like?

Hey CitizenX this thread is all for fun, just being goofy. Can't always be serious!!!

If you get some info out of it great, if not you got a giggle.

It is going to disappear in a week or 2. I think I set it to expire in like 30 days.

Hoppe's is ahead 2 to 1, can't be all bad..........

I thought we were supposed to only evaluate hoppes #9 on its merits as an aftershave?

My preference is with the foaming cleaners. They clean a bore very quickly. For a liquid solvent I go with Butch's Bore Shine as the preference then Shooter's Choice.
