Give some measurements...
  • Neck diameter
  • Shoulder diameter
  • Base diameter
  • Rim diameter
  • Rim thickness
  • Case length
  • Overall length

My best guess is Bulgarian 1955 7.62x54R Lead Core Heavy Ball

I guess; Old Soviet Eastern Block (Bulgaria most likely) 7.62 cartridge
"10" famous Bulgarian Circle 10 Armory

Would most likely run in a Soviet styled AK-47 or maybe a Mosin.

You could be right, I'm coming up with 2.111" which is 53.619mm, close. I'm getting .312" for the ID which is 7.92 but its been fired so it may be more than 7.62. 1.575" to the bottom of the shoulder, .355" from the top of the shoulder to the mouth and the shoulder is around .181"

Never seen a beveled base like that, is the breech face contoured to match or just flat?

Thanks, I'm guessing you all are correct, and its a 7.62x54R, the guy I got it from does have a nagant, he must have gotten them confused when he gave it to me.

Trim to length for 7.62x54R is 2.104", with the other dimensions mentioned you have a 7.62x54R.
