Remington 870 express 18" barrel 5 shot cap.

My current personal/home protection arsenal -

The Remington will have low recoil bird shot in it. The 40c currently has 165gr Winchester® Supreme Elite PDX1 jhp. I also currently have a tactical flashlight with mount and pressure activation switch on the block to purchase for the Remington.

NICE shotty....

Been debated ALMOST as much as caliber wars... but I'd consider stepping up to 00-Buck over the bird-shot.

Handy tests for all things penetration.

Another believer in 00 buck I'd go with that over bird shot any day!

Another thing to think about for a light is the Surefire integrated forend. They are great, spendy, but worth it in my mind.

My ultimate determining factor for ammo is wall penetration. I purchased the shotgun for bird shot to avoid wall penetration with other people in the house. If that was not a fact then I would have left it at the 40c w/jhp.

As for the surefire.. Yes they are nice.. However, I will not spend more on the flashlight then I did on the gun.. I like this one I am looking at .. For $150 less than the 80lumen surefire .. This is xenon instead of LED which is a downfall but at the price it is worth it in my opinion...

It is this one -

Tacstar Light
