Much more fun, much more pride in ownership, and has multiple purposes. I've also learned that buckshot will travel through a couple of homes, so there is no point in having it vs a rifle with home defense rounds.
That's just my opinion.

Excluding Remington, Mossberg and older Ithaca's, the KSG is next in line, IMO. BULLPUP designs make clearing tight spaces much easier.

Are the leftover parts from the donor gun included?
You can get the Bullpup Unlimited kit for well under $300 and install it yourself. It's really not that difficult.

The $700 deal isn't too bad. The 25077 is $354 from Buds with the cash discount. If it included some action work on the 870, the deal would be tempting to me.

Remington 870 Express 12g 18" blued, black-synthetic $354.00 SHIPS FREE

I could easily install the bullpup kit myself, but someone else might not want to take that effort to accomplish the assembly themselves, just like people who are unwilling to install Apex Tactical parts themselves.

Then there is this.

I have dropped the price to $650.00 for the complete kit.

I have, and if the OP said, what would you think would be best for a competition shotgun, the Mossberg or the Remington, I probably wouldn't have posted an opinion. I don't really have one for a shotgun that get that much use. Probably one with a lifetime warranty.
As for a home owner that has already purchased a home defense shotgun, I say there are allot of other things that I would spend the money on. That's just an opinion. The OP can take the opinions, that he asked for, and decide for himself what he wants to do with his money.

This is a fantastic gun and built on a rock solid platform - 870. No FTF issues. Same can not be said for the Keltec!

I stock these competed kits if anyone is wanting one.

Put 1k rounds through a Mossberg 500 20 years ago. Sold it when I met my wife.
Picked up an 870 last year - the kids are older now - and just finished about 600 rounds through it.
No issues in either.
This time around I did a few mods. WC Mag extension and a Hogue 12" lop. I just picked up a .5" lop airtech limb saver. Looking forward to shooting some heavy stuff to see how much softer it is.

Had I found a good deal on the Mossberg this time around I'd probably have that now. I think both are a great choice.
