Any fans of the S&W K22 Model 17 out there? I recently bought this M17-4 with target grips, target trigger and target hammer. Shoots true, especially with the 8 3/8" barrel.

I was looking at M617's at the time, but figured that the extra 2 inches of barrel would get me closer to the target. Anyhoo, I decided to go 'classic' and use iron sights. The long sight radius makes me more accurate.

I've never had one, but they're pretty neat guns. I wouldn't mind having one now.

I bought a model 18 back in 1976, and I still have it. Mine is the 4" barrel with the braughm front sight. I have gone thru many Smiths over the years, but this model 18 is a keeper. The model 17 has always had a repitation of being very accurate. You have a nice keeper.

I have 3 of the 6" 17s, one Model 18 and a 4" 617. Guess you could say I like them.

There really isn't a better .22 revolver ever made as best I can tell. Of course I also think theres not really a better .38 target revolver than the K38 and for that matter I'm hard pressed to find a better .44 magnum than the 29/629 series (note I said nicer, not necessarily the toughest)

I picked up this great condition 18-0 with box and tools last fall. Great shooter, one of my favorite range guns. This was a dream come true to own one of these.

I had a much older version of the K 22 years ago, thing would drive nails if the shooter did his part...Sold it while I was in the service (early lean days when money was reaaaallly tight) for funds to acquire something else, don't even remember what I traded for now, but everytime I think about it I want to kick myself right in the A$$ for doing so.

Picked up a Model 17 no dash last year. I've always started each range trip with a .22 and can now alternate using this revolver instead of my Ruger RST-4 or 22/45. Shoots great with that 6-in barrel and is very accurate. S&W knows how to build guns and it's really apparent when you fire one like this that is over 50 years old!
