Having never shot "The Judge" I would say that I would go with the Governor before the Judge. The fit and finish just look a lot better than on the Taurus. I guess I'm just a S&W kinda guy....Although I really don't see the need for this particular weapon...

It's the (almost) free-market system. Taurus has laughed all the way to the bank with the Judge. Smith & Wesson is a for-profit company that saw an opportunity to pick up some of the marketshare of the 45LC/410 crowd.

While it could be argued that sub-par and unoriginal (whoever came up with "governor" for the name wasn't working too hard) products will hurt them in the long run, I predict that they will sell enough for the gun to be a financial success.

Personally, I wouldn't touch it.

To each his own I guess. I kinda like it. But I also like the 45 Colt round. I always wanted a 45/410 derringer to use as a pocket pistol/BUG/car carry weapon.

I didn't see anything above about price, but if it were low enough, I'd consider it. It's a bit of a novelty, so I wouldn't spend too much on it.

For the same size/weight, a M&P45 is 10 times the defensive weapon than a 45LC revolver!!! Hell a M&P9FS is MUCH better...

The 410 shotshell cartridge is pitiful out of a 24" barrel, not even sufficient for killing birds... In a 3" barrel???

The think the Taurus Judge was a horrible example of marketing genius over actual capability. It sucks. S&W's copy of it is a even more pitiful market-share grab that just continues the lie that is the Judge... It's a bad move for S&W.

Really good for blasting watermelons on TV... but that's about it.
