I'm a lucky boy, this is just after I cleaned and serviced it. I didn't even wear a mask......

My old Speed Six is not as smooth as my S&W revolvers, but it is the one that has been through the roughest carry/use. And the one I will be starting to carry fishing again. Mine has been submerged, sweated on, drug/carried through the dirt/brush, etc. and worked every time. The only thing I've ever killed with it was a copperhead, but that was one copperhead that never bit anyone/anything after the Speed Six "spoke".

Great guns. Enjoy it.

Houston, I think we have a problem......... Thanks Bill!
I like the Rugers, I LOVE the Smiths'.
Score:
Auto's-2
Revo's-3
My FS 40 still gets the daily call, the .40c gets some time, and my 638 is when I play dress up and have to be all tucked. Slips right in the old pocket.

The Rugers are fun, I may carry the refurbed one once in a while if I can find a leather holster for it. I just can't make myself carry that one in kydex. The shiny one is just to see peoples eyes glaze over. I'm a cruel bast*rd.

I was REALLY lucky to come upon that one. The same friend I got the one I refurbed had this and wanted to sell it after he got a 638 like mine. Sooooo the price was right. (Lucky, he didn't see my eyes glaze over).

I have a 2 3/4" bbl Speed Six, and a 6" Security Six. I won the Security Six as a prize for overall winner in the Master Class of a PPC match back in the late 1980's, liked it so much picked up a Speed Six as a spare revolver for off duty use.

WOW, those are nice!

Here is a pic of the speed six with the bobbed hammer. I am keeping the original hammer also. I also installed Shively's Shim kit and smoothed the internals to both it and the Security Six. Much smoother action/trigger pull.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with it. All it takes is a little research, and a LOT of patience.

I'm on the "list" for a custom leather holster for it. Local craftsman, actually a co worker. Will post pics when I get it. That gun cries for a leather holster, I couldn't in good conscious put it in a kydex holster, as much as I like kydex.

This and my Security Six are my only 2 NON S&W's.

I bought a 38 spcl stainless one 2 years ago for $150.00 from a woman.
Built early 1980's, one owner shot once. Great gun and use it out on a boat. Looking for shot shell ammo for the snakes when in the woods but can't find the ammo. Wish I could find more deals like that.

Speed Six front sight

Hi....I'm Mike and new around here. I noticed you folks talkin Speed Six here. My Speed Six is my house gun. I'm 62 and the eyes like an eagle are long gone. I ordered and installed a XS tritium dot(Not Big Dot) front sight. It's made for a sp 101 or Smith j frame. The tenon on this sight is just a hair wide for the SS slot but a little swipe with a file(one on each side of tenon) and it dropped right in the slot. Easy to install, great upgrade both day and night
